Buenos Dios from Honduras
¨Let us not be weary in doing good´for in proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.¨Gal 6:9
Lou quoted that verse yesterday as he talked about the beginnings of Living WaterInternational. Three yearsinto this idea, they were not succeeding. And while in Africa, they failed to find water in an arid area. ¨Discouraged, and with low morale, the team leader returned to the hotel. A woman in their group saw him and quoted that verse. He tried for another 4 weeks to succeed and returned to the U.S. to face the Board who were ready to throw in the towel. Harry, the founder and team lead, quoted that verse to the Board and told them that he was going to continue the ministry despite thier decision to end the ministry. The Board prayed about that verse and obviously opted to continue.
The Power of the Word. Man´s rationale would have led to closure. God led them to stay the course. Today we are here, 12 years later because of God´s Word, spoken through Paul in Gal. 6:9, and spoken to Harry on that dreary, dry day in Africa. In hardship, we often turn to others or turn to ourselves for guidance. Most times that is the case with me. It takes practice and it takes discipline to stay in God´s word. And then the hard part,I have to TRUST His Word.
An estimated 12,000,000 people are alive today because of Living Waters International. All because of the chain of custody of God´s word, from Paul, to Latin, to translations, to English, to a woman, to Harry. And now our team is in Honduras because of those 24 words. And many more will follow our team.
Amen
