Our Mission Sharing the word of God - reaching the far corners of the world and our own backyards.
Isaiah 6:8
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying,
"Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?"
And I said, "Here am I. Send me!"

Renate Galyean founded the Sarah and Joseph Foundation as part of the outreach ministry of Call To Africa. From her first trip in 2004, Renate realized there needed to be a focus within CTA’s ministry that reached into the widows and orphans of Uganda. So in 2005 Renate began working with local Pastor’s wife’s to train and equip them to minister to the widows and orphans of their communities. From this burden Renate and Irene Kaziba from Iganga, Uganda formed the ‘Sarah and Joseph Foundation’ of Call to Africa to recruit women and resources to help provide opportunities within the local church communities, to help the widows and orphans.
So Ladies here is your opportunity to join Renate in June and July of 2011 to help facilitate Women’s Conferences, Bible Distributions, VBS, Medical Clinics, or send resources for sewing machines, pigs, goats, or provide school fees for orphans and venerable children to get an education.

The Tale of Saddle Cat
So The past 3 days have been filled with the excitement and thrill of travel (SARCASM).... I know what you are all thinking, "well you better get use to it", but I can be honestly say that it hasn't been that bad... It has led me to see some interesting things though. A fun fact about me is I love to people watch. I'm not sure why but there is just something about seeing how unique individuals are and trying to figure out their life by the way they portray themselves that is intriguing to me. Ok, ok, call me "creeper" if you want but don't act like you are innocent when it comes to the art of people watching. There are a number of good watering holes to that we People Watchers like to go and do what we do, the mall, Barnes and Noble, Starbucks, a city park, but we all know the Superbowl of people watching takes place at the airport. There has never been a place where you will see more diversity in one spot. Different cultures and colors blended together in a melting pot of "get the heck out of my way, I'm about to miss my flight".... Ahhh, the beauty of it all.
So early Thursday morning, David Howard was kind enough to make the trek and drop me off at the airport in Nashville. Waiting there in my terminal I couldn't help but think about all that I was about to embark on. As my mind races I hear the phone ring and am instantly brought back to reality, it was Elizabeth, my teammate that I was flying with down to Miami for the night. We sat there and caught up on the past two and a half months since training camp and before we knew it we we boarding our flight. Our flight was pretty empty so we were able to ditch the idea of assigned seating and sit next to each other, though upon this decision I gave away a valuable fly tool... The window... The window is by far the most amazing part of the airplane, not only is it a portal to the land 30,000 ft below, it is an idea place to rest your head. Anyways, it was a worthy sacrifice to spend time with a friend.
Next on our itinerary was a nice two hour layover in Charlotte, N.C. As we sat there making our last few connections to the world on Facebook a familiar face strolls by us... Our team mate Katie also flew out of Nashville, an hour after us, but we all had the same flight to Miami. After our short lived reunion it was time to eat. Me and Elizabeth were starving so we decided to walk up the terminal to find a bite while Katie stayed behind and watched over our stuff. After make the amazing choice of a Quiznos Chicken Carbonera sub we headed back to get ready to board Honestly I can't remember what our conversation was about... All I know is that we both stopped talking at the exact same time and just stared. I wanted it to be a mirage, but I knew it wasn't. As much as I wanted my eyes to be lying to me I knew they weren't. There was a lady in front of us carrying a Pet Taxi and in side was a cat. This cat wasn't wearing a hat. It wasn't in a boat, digging a moat, or on a float. This cat was wearing a saddle...
Our conversation went as follows, "You see the cat don't you?", "Yep.", "It's wearing a saddle, isn't it?" , "Yep." That was all we could say... Why on earth a cat would need a saddle, I don't know. What I do know is the look on Cowboy Kitty said it all.
So some of you are wondering what is the point of this blog, quite frankly I just thought this was random and funny. I guess it is a good update for you all to know that I haven't lost me since of humor even though it is starting to hit me how hard this trip will be. In a few hours we will be heading away from our launch location and to our World Race home base where my team along with 2 or 3 others will be staying, we will leave from there daily to go to our different ministry sites. So don't worry all you people out there who are wanting the stories of lives changed, people healed, demons cast out, and the dead raised (yeah, I said it). They will becoming soon.
Until then,
Joel

This is how WE roll...

Posted in Training Camp by Joel Dutton on 11/14/2010
I noticed that some of my fellow squad mates found this and it is something that should be shared... This is a word that was spoken over all of us as World Racers at training camp. This is what WE believe.
We have decided that teaching the Gospel without demonstrating the Gospel is not enough.
Good preaching, good doctrine, being good people, it's not enough.
We have decided that having a good church club is not enough.
Good fellowship, it's not enough.
Just being a member of that club, it's not enough.
We have decided that having good bible studies is good, but not good enough.
That just making it to Heaven is not our goal; and that knowing about God without truly knowing and experiencing God is meaningless!
We have decided that having good programs is not enough.
That change without transformation is intolerable, and staying the same is not an option!
We have decided that gifting without character is futile.
We have decided that singing songs without worshiping is hollow, and having meetings without God showing up is pointless.
We have decided that having faith without works is not enough, and having works without love is not acceptable.
Our function comes out of our relationship first with the Father and second with each other.
We have decided that reading about the book of acts without living the book of acts is unthinkable.
We have decided that confident faith is good, bold faith is better.
We have decided that hearing about the Holy Spirit without experiencing Him is silly.
That believing in His presence without seeing it manifested in signs and wonders is hypocrisy; that believing in healing without seeing people healed is absurd; and that believing in deliverance without people being delivered is absolutely ridiculous.
We've decided to be Holy Spirit filled, Holy Spirit led, and Holy Spirit empowered.
Anything less doesn't work for us.
We have decided to be the ones telling the stories of God's power, not the ones hearing about them.
We have decided that living saved, but not supernatural is living below our privilege and short of what Christ died for.
We have decided that we are a battleship not a cruise ship, an army not an audience; Special
Forces not spectators, missionaries not club members.
We have decided to value both pioneers and settlers; pioneers to expand our territory and settlers to build on those territories.
But we are not squatters; people who take up space others have fought for without improving it.
We have decided to be infectious instead of innocuous, contagious instead of quarantined, deadly instead of benign.
We have decided to be radical lovers and outrageous givers.
We have decided that we are a mission station not a museum.
Therefore, we honor the past but we don't live in it.
We live in the present with our eyes on the future.
We see past events, successes, and failures as stepping stones not stop signs.
We pursue learning in order to be transformed not learning in order to know.
We are people of engagement not observation.
We focus on what could be not on what is or what has been.
We are not limited to the four walls of this building; our influence is not restricted by location.
Not even the Nations are out of bounds.
We are more concerned about how many we send out in the world then how many we convince to come into the building.
This building is meant to be filled, and it will be, but it will not be the measure of who we are or the measure of our effectiveness.
We raise up world changers not tour guides.
We train commandos not committees.
We are a people of our destiny not our history.
We have decided it's better to fail while reaching for the impossible that God has planned for us, than succeed in settling for less.
We have decided that nothing short of His kingdom come and His will be done in our world as it is in heaven will satisfy.
We have decided that we will not be satisfied until our world freaks out and cries out, "those who turned the world upside down have come here too."
These are some of the decisions that define who we are as a community and how we live our lives.
These decisions are not destinations but rather journeys.
Journeys along an ancient path, we have not found some new way.
But rather rediscovered a path as old as Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
The same path followed by Moses, Joshua, and Caleb, Paul, John, and Peter.
The path followed by the first century church, a church that revolutionized the culture of the first century and beyond.
It's a path that will impact the world we live in today.
It's a path of bold faith, believing that what God says is really true and acting on it.
It's a path of outrageous generosity, giving our life away in order to demonstrate His kingdom.
It's a path of radical love, loving God with everything in us and loving our neighbor as ourselves.
It's a path of liberty, freedom, and healing.
On this path you will find significance, purpose, and destiny.
It's a path less traveled however.
It's not a path only available to a select few, but to whosoever will come.
It's for people of every nation tribe and tongue, for those in any occupation or vocation.
No matter where you are in your life journey there's room on this path for you

(Thursday)
Just heard from Mike in a quick phone call. The new hotel they are at tonight doesn't have internet. Today they put the pump on the well, dedicated it, prayed over it and hug and cried over it. Everyone is doing well and in good spirits. Tomorrow they will move to a hotel closer to the airport and there is a possibility of no communication so we may not hear until they hit the States on Saturday.
(Friday Evening)
Well this may be the last update. Mike just called and they are staying about 20 minutes from the airport. They should get there easily and head to the States. I think that you will all hear from your traveler tomorrow afternoon if they have time in Atlanta. If I don't do an update tomorrow, I'll see you at the airport tomorrow evening. You can go online at Delta.com to get flight status. See you soon and pray for safe travel tomorrow.
Blessings

Just talked to Mike. The well is sealed and the locals put the pad around the well in today. Just sprinkles today and tomorrow they will set the pump onto the well. Tomorrow night they will change hotels and be at the Hotel Canadian until they leave for home on Saturday morning. Don't know yet if the new hotel will have internet so may not hear anything until they reach the states Saturday. We'll see. All are well and doing fine. Mike said that this is one of the coolest trips he's been on. No heat and rain is unusual for Central America.

Monday October 4, 2010
All, Just talked to Mike on Skype and all are doing well. They got the pilot hole drilled today and the weather was good until the very end and then they got soaked. They were at the hotel and it was about 8pm. I saw Tony, Rusty and Beth and they looked good. Tomorrow they will drill the main well hole and hopefully they will be ready to case it the next day. They are all in high spirits. The Lord is blessing their trip. Anyone who wants to add to our view of what it going on, feel free. I'll send more tomorrow as I hear more.
Beth was very excited because the health/hygiene training is also going great. Scores of kids and moms showed up the first day (normally the first day is a little slow until they figure out what the "gringos" are doing there). The hygiene mission really complements the well-drilling mission and many of the lessons provide an opportunity to share the Gospel message. Blessings, John Davidson
Tuesday October 5th
All, Heard from Mike a few minutes ago. They were getting ready to go to dinner. They were a little later getting back tonight so eating late. They got the well drilled and cased and it was pumping about 120-130 gallons an hour. That's a good strong well for a village. They had a good safe day and it only rained at the very end of the work again. Mike said that as we were talking he looked out of the front door and it was pouring rain. So far they have't had to work all day in the rain, so that is a blessing. All are doing well and I'm sure that some of you have heard from someone on the team also. We'll keep the prayers coming and I know that God will be with them and protect them there and on the way home next Saturday. Hope you all have a good night and blessed day tomorrow.
All,I was going to send this last night, but my son called just as i got off the Skype chat with Mike and that went late so here goes. They all got there just fine and are in a nice hotel with internet connections, so that means that some of my emails will be a review for some of you or you got a different view of the day's work. They spent yesterday in church and visiting around there an by the time I talked to Mike it was bedtime. They are the same as mountain time, one hour behind us. Before we could talk I had to download Skype onto our computer and set up an account. Not as bad as I thought it would be because it actually worked when I got through doing it.
Today they start the well and that will take most of their time along with the relationship building and health and hygiene training that Sandi and Beth will be doing. I'm sure that they will do great. Mike said that it rained there yesterday just a little and they are hoping that what may head their way will be light or miss them.
Tonight I'll try to get an email out if I hear from Mike again. If any of you hear different tales you are welcome to chime in to the above addresses so that we get a full picture of the whole team and their work.
Blessings
