Sharing the word of God - reaching the far corners of the world and our own backyards.

Isaiah 6:8
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying,
"Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?"
And I said, "Here am I. Send me!"

It Is Raining It Is Pouring

living-waterGood morning from Honduras!

What a great day the Lord has made!

Yesterday our team arrived in the village and started drilling the water well. When we arrived the skies pened up and the rain continued. Sometimes so hard you thought it could not rain any harder, but it did!  Despite the weather our team had an incredible day.  The men were awesome as they started the drilling process. They drilled to 40 ft and hit water and rock. The torrential rains and wind were so hard that they stopped early yestrday and will finish preparing the hole today. Mike,  Beth, John, and Mike were all having flashbacks of  last years trips! Except the water is only ankle deep this time not knee deep. Our hygiene day started great as the schools were indeed closed due to the rain. We opened up the school house and had alot of children come in and participated. We taught all sorts of basic hygiene and were allowed the opportunity to  share the gospel while making bracelets. Living water has a great staff here and they have a spiritual leader who comes in and teaches the gospel and he even did some great music ministry.

After the morning session the locals made us a great lunch of rice and beans, fresh tortillias and fried chicken.  We arevery blessed where we are, which is just down the street from the well that our team drilled last year! The village is a very nice one and seems to be very educated and clean (according to honduran standards.) However the waterthat they have piped into ttheir homes comes from the mountains, thru the rivers and directly into their homes. Today we hope to teach them that the well that we drill will produce excellent water! This they can use to cook with. It wil be an interesting concept for most to not use the running water that is piped into their homes that is loaded with chemicals and parasites, and to walk down the street for clean water.

Our prayer today is that the rain will subside and the locals will be able to come in for more training. We also hope to be able to walk through the village and visit some homes to see how they do things and have a better understanding of how they live and how we can help. What a blessing this trip has been and we are humbled that the Lord has given us this opportunity to help these people. They are so grateful that we are there.

We feel like we are the ones that are grateful,  grateful that we have a God that is big enough to send a team from Madison AL  across the world to reach a small village and to give them clean water. Praise GOD!

Continued prayers are great. With all the amount of rain we hope to be able to make it to the village today. If not I am sure that the Lord has other plans for us! All the team members say hello and send their love to their families!

Blessings,

Glennis
