| CrossPointe Team Week is almost over,It has been an amazing week and we could not ask for any better way to end our trip. We are in La Sabia and staying at the Canadian. Today half of the team went on a zip line thru the jungle! There were 15 platform stations that they landed on and it was simply amazing. Then they swam in the hot springs from the volcano. The other half of the team went snorkeling to a nearby island and enjoyed seeing a sea turtle and squid and other beautiful coral.
This morning I woke up and wondered what I should do today, having nursed an aching back from the trip and the Lord told me to stay in the hotel. I did and sat and visited with Jeanette and Charles the owners of the Canadian. They are such a blessing to be around. Both are originally from Canada and have quite a ministry within the walls of the hotel. THey host mostly missionary groups to their hotel and minister to the locals about how to save money to purchase what they want instead of just spending it...the whole Dave Ramsey process in Honduras! They told me of a small orphanage just down the beach that was run by 2 americans. So Roger (from Ohio) and I set off walking to see the children. We found the orphange just off the beach in a blue home. Actually you had to walk thru a bed and breakfast to find it. We entered thru the gates and there were 15 children playing all under the age of 5! They were so beautiful and most could speak english! We had to get the 5 year olds to interpret for the nannies! Too funny. I have more information and the owners were not present so I hope to touch base with them when I arrive back in the states. After that Emillio our driver took us to a souviner shop and the mall where I am typing this from my first internet cafe! My account says that i owe an amount of 8,00 now which is really concerning me, but i am sure it is the currency in honduras! We will be eating pizza tonight then headed back to the hotel to turn in early. We have a 4 hour bus ride to the airport and need to get there early.
We have heard all sorts of political issues discussed here and the citizens are concerned why our presidente is doing what he is. We all are thankful for what we have learned and are very different after serving in this most gracious country. We provided water for a community but the Lord has provided living water to restore our souls so that we can go out and spread the word when we get home.We have many photos and videos to share and are most thankful for the missions team video camera! Stay tuned for more updates.
Love to all our loved ones, we love you very much, |
